Waste is a worldwide issue. We feel that if everybody tried to do a little bit extra to waste less and lessen the demand on our vital resources, the world would be a better place to live. At Cheese Curds, minimizing our impact on the environment begins with the design of our physical space, and continues into the daily operation of the restaurant.
Sustainability was a mandate we put on both the construction team and our food supplier when starting this project. Where possible we used recycled materials in construction, and our dining-room floor is made from sustainable bamboo. Our containers are made from sugar cane or bamboo, our napkins have been made from recycled materials, and everything, including the forks, is biodegradable. Once again, these items may cost a little more upfront, but they cost us all a whole lot less over generations, and we’re proud to use them.
